Beware of political complacency
American Democracy is built on a flood plain. Every few years the water rises and nearly washes away our homes.
Instead of constructing a dike or moving to higher ground, we rebuild, forgetting the past and claiming “the system” is working as intended. Confident our democracy will hold.
America teeters on the edge of a raging river. Perhaps, after 250 years, a few tweaks are justified..
